Hot Tub Hamilton Settings for winter

As we’re heading into the cold, I want to make sure the menu settings are correct for our Hamilton Spa.

These are the settings, please let me know if they should be different:

PF – 2Am (it goes off a few times a day, is that okay)
SF – Heavy Mode
Heat – Auto
FC – Off
UV – 239
H20 – 84

Please let me know what the ideal settings should be for winter.

Also, the last time we changed the donut filter and took out the large filter to rinse we experienced a stubborn airlock. We had to blast an air lock out using the garden hose. What should we do if this happens during the winter (as we won’t have access to an outdoor hose).

Thank you,
Teresa

  1. Hi Teresa. It doesn’t matter what time you have the Primary cycle start at but we do recommend you set the Primary cycle duration for 24hrs November thru mid April in cold winter climate regions. We recommend setting the Secondary cycle for what you have it set for currently November thru mid April in cold winter climate regions. We recommend the Heat cycle be set for what you have it set for currently November thru mid April in cold winter climate regions.
FC is your filter clean reminder. Much like a home furnace filter reminder this is user preference. We find 30 days is a good reminder but with heavy bather load November thru mid April in cold winter climate regions you may find 14 days better. The UV countdown timer is a reminder of how many days til you have to change your ClearRay Uv bulb. You have 239 days til you have to change yours. H20 is a reminder for when to change your water in the spa. We typically don’t recommend changing water November thru mid April in cold winter climate regions but if you feel you are capable of changing it in the winter without equipment freezing you could set this cycle for 90 days. Alternatively if you choose not to change the water we recommend monthly or bi-monthly checkups of the water at our authorized Bio-Guard water test center to keep your water tip top. Our certified Technicians do not change spa water November thru mid April.
