My pump won’t prime. The return line is full but the skimmer doesn’t pull. I can draw water with a shop vac but he pump doesn’t pull. I have tightened every connection to the best of my ability. Let me know what to do next.

Make sure all winterizing plugs and foam rod are removed at pool returns and inside pool skimmer body, make sure weir door flap is removed for the first prime of the pump. Make sure all intake valves to the pump are open. Make sure the union o-rings in front of the pump are in place and in good condition. Make sure the pump lid o-ring is in place and in good condition. Make sure the pump drain plug o-rings are in place and in good condition. If this all checks out fill the pump pot til it overflows with water, close the lid tight and turn on the pump to prime.
