I am getting bubbles out of the jets and the pump reservoir will not fill completely
When I open the valve at the top of the filter bursts of air come out
This stops the bubbles at the jets but the pump still does not completely fill

Doug if you have poor flow back to the pool jets consider removing your filters briefly to try and run the system without filters ie 15min maximum. If the flow dramatically increases at the pool jets and the bubbles go away/air in pump basket goes away you will need to install your backup set of filters and either rinse or chemically clean your dirty filters.
